Questa casetta non è in scala 1:12, l'ho realizzata su ordinazione per una bimba che ama giocare con le Polly Pocket.

Day 85 - 365 Toy Project
The Polly Pockets in the market today are bigger (and if I'm not mistaken, have "real hair" and changeable outfits), but I actually liked this old inch-tall version better.

Note the screen delicately separating the bathroom from the 2nd floor foyer. Very clever!

Sinterklaas - Surprise, originally uploaded by Red Colander.
Polly Pocket
In The Netherlands we celebrate "Sinterklaas" (St. Nicolas) on the 5th of December. It's a childrens holiday. Sinterklaas comes from Spain with his steamboat and arrives in Holland half of november. He has a white horse (Americo) and the "Zwarte Pieten" (Black Peters) help him visit the kids and give them presents (through the chimney) and candy. If the kids don't believe in Sinterklaas anymore, or if you celebrate with adults, we make "surprises". These are Gift wrappings, personalized to the receiver. You can either make something the receiver likes (something to do with hobbies/interests), something he or she absolutely hates or you make a messy surprise, filled with shampoo/gel or other dirty stuff. The last one is usually not very wanted, but watching someone unwrap this can be a lot of fun. You also write a poem in which you tell something about the character/likes/dislikes of the receiver and a little hint about the present. Then it's time to open the surprise and search for your present. On my school, we make surprises from grade 4.

Meet the floorobe, originally uploaded by dilutedmagnetics.
H won a Sony DSC W55 camera at his dept social get-together thingamboob. I'm testing it out today. Look at this mess! Naked Polly Pockets everywhere on the carpet in G's room. It's surreal.
I love the colours produced by this camera. It's strictly P&S with no manual controls whatever. There's also no image stablisation. But, it is quite reliable in low light conditions. Performs much much better than my "can-not-make-it" Canon i7 Zoom anyway...

I just won these on Ebay! This is the auction photo. I am so happy!
I've identified the big mostly pink castle in the middle back to for sure be a 1995 Trendmasters StarCastle. I'll have to wait to get the rest to be able to identify them.
